trial attorneys

Weems Law Offices focuses on criminal defense, litigation and trial. We defend clients against allegations of criminal and civil wrongdoing, and we bring lawsuits on behalf of both individuals and entities that have been wronged. The firm handles DUI, drug possession, manufacturing and distribution charges and other criminal matters throughout the greater bay area-Stockton to Sonoma to San Jose. We regularly litigate a wide variety of disputes in state and federal court including intellectual property and commercial matters, Social Security (SSDI/SSI) and ERISA benefits, and sensitive personal matters such as divorce, custody and support.

We have extensive legal expertise in the formation and operation of medical marijuana qualified patient collectives and mutual benefit corporations, in addition to proving guidance over the hurdles of local zoning and permitting. We defend collectives in civil and criminal actions brought against them, against their officers, employees and patients, and against people doing business with collectives, including commercial landlords. We have successfully defended felony drug charges against collective members and had charges dropped based on the affirmative defenses available to collective members. We also have successfully defended landlords in nuisance and forfeiture cases.

Representation is provided before California State and federal courts, the Social Security Administration, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, administrative law judges and before international and domestic arbitration tribunals.
